First Communion 2015
Apr 30th, 2015 by Father Chris

communion2015Students who received their First Holy Communion on Saturday April 25, 2015 gather in the Sanctuary of the church following the Mass.

We congratulate all of the students of our S.T.A.R.S. Religious Studies Program who received Jesus for the first time last Saturday morning at a special Mass in church.  This day is quite a milestone in the spiritual development of our young parishioners.  We continue to offer our prayers and support to our students.  We are very proud of their hard work and enthusiasm.  We also thank their parents and families who have brought them to this point in their lives as well as Mrs. Jean Jacksen and all of our catechists who have helped form their education in the faith.

2015 Cardinal’s Appeal
Apr 29th, 2015 by Father Chris
2015 Archdiocesan Stewardship Appeal

Parish Goal: $68,000

Pledged to date: $54,000

Participation Goal: 300 Families
Number of donors to date: 130 Families

We very much need the help of EVERY parish family to contribute something to the Appeal this year.  To date we have received $48,000 in pledges from 120 families.  We are deeply grateful to these families for their generosity.

Our goal for PARTICIPATION is 300 Families.  We are 180 families away from reaching that goal.
Please be aware that one of the criteria the Archdiocese of New York uses to assess the “vitality” of parish life is the number of families involved in the Cardinal’s Appeal.  This is why it is very important that each year we show a greater involvement on the part of our parishioners especially in these uncertain times for so many parishes.
If you have not made a gift please help us reach our goal for participation by making a pledge today.  And, thank you in advance for your generous gifts which will make the 2015 Cardinal’s Appeal successful!

Our parish has recently registered with Flocknotes.  Flocknotes is a way of receiving instant messages from the Archdiocese of New York as well as our parish to be kept up to date on important news and information.  I want to encourage everyone to sign up and become familiar with this new method of receiving updates on important church happenings.  Please access the link on the home page of the parish website for more information.
