24 Hours and Counting till were “Jammin in the Gym!”
Feb 28th, 2014 by Father Chris

Just under 24 hours and counting until the start of our parish extravaganza – “Jammin in the Gym!”  Those who were fortunate enough to secure tickets are going to be treated to one of the most enjoyable evenings you have had in a long time.  The evening gets under way at 6:00pm in the auditorium with dinner served a little later and the main event, “Lights Out” at tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons set to begin at 9:00pm!

A special word of thanks to all who have worked so hard to make this event such a success and so enjoyable for everyone.  We are deeply in debt to you!  Know of our gratitude and love.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow night and I know it is going to be a great evening for our parish and for our wider community at large.

2014 Cardinal’s Appeal
Feb 26th, 2014 by Father Chris

2014 cardinal appeal logo

The 2014 Cardinal’s Appeal is now underway.  As I mentioned at all of the Masses last weekend, the goal for our parish this year is $64,000.  I ask every parish family to pray about and consider what part you might play in this year’s Appeal.  For the past 6 years our parish has had a steady increase in the number of families who have participated as well as an increase in the amount of money we have raised.  I hope we can continue this trend this year as well.  Thank you in advance and God bless you for your generosity!

jammin

I hope that all parishioners will plan to join us next Saturday evening, March1, 2014 at 6:00pm for an exciting evening of entertainment, food and fun!  We have termed the event “Jammin in the Gym” because of the tribute band “Lights Out” which will be coming to perform.  This band performs the music of Frankie Valley and the Four Seasons.  A delicious selection of food has also been planned which will certainly delight all who attend.  The ticket cost is $50 and reservations should be made no later than THIS Sunday, February 23.  Please feel free to invite other family members and friends you may want to join you.  It will be a great evening and you do not want to miss it!  I  hope to see you there.

Yesterday Rocco Magnotta, our Parish Council President, and I spent an hour on WVOX Radio in New Rochelle talking about the “Jammin in the Gym” dinner among other topics.  It was a fun time and we are grateful to Dennis, Tani and everyone at WVOX for their invitation and hospitality to us during our visit.  Above, you can see the “StudioCam” which is on the WVOX website.  During the broadcast many of our parishioners and people from anywhere in the world could tune in and watch and listen.

Super Bowl Spirit Mass
Feb 1st, 2014 by Father Chris

SuperBowl48

I invite all of the students of our STARS Religious Education Program and all of the young people and families of our parish to join us tomorrow morning at 10:30am in Church for our annual Super Bowl Spirit Mass.  Youngsters are encouraged to wear the jersey of their favorite team (does not have to be football) and come ready to hear a positive and uplifiting message about the importance of TEAM work!  I know our choir has been working on some beautiful music and there will be something for each young person to take home and enjoy during the Superbowl.  So, I hope to see everyone tomorrow morning for a great Family Mass!
