A Difficult Month
Jan 30th, 2014 by Father Chris

The past month has been a very difficult one for me and my family.  On Christmas Day I flew to North Carolina to be with my father who, while hospitalized, had taken a turn for the worse that day.  Over the next few days we were with my father nonstop at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina.  And, sadly in the early morning hours of Monday December 30th, 2013 my father died.

My family and I are deeply grateful to everyone for the tremendous outpouring of support we have received during this difficult time in our lives.  The flowers, cards, food, prayers, phone calls and love we have received have been very much appreciated.

My father was a unique and special man whom God gifted with so many extraordinary qualities.  Most important among all of these was his unwavering and uncomplicated faith.  Although we miss him terribly, the faith which he passed on to all of us has and will continue to sustain us until we see him again.

I will soon be posting an entry about the activities surrounding my father’s wake, funeral and burial for the benefit of those who might not have been able to attend.  I hope that you will join us in continuing to pray for my father’s happy repose.  Also, we, his family, would appreciate a memento in your prayers as we make the difficult adjustment of life without him.
